Annie Girardot, a versatile French actress who played the doomed Milanese streetwalker in Luchino Visconti’s “Rocco and His Brothers” and, moving easily from drama to comedy, became France’s most popular actress of the 1970s, died on Monday in Paris. She was 79.

Girardot performed in more than 100 films and won France’s coveted Cesar award three times — in 1976 for best actress for her role in Jean-Louis Bertuccelli’s “Doctor Francoise Gailland,” for supporting actress for “Les Miserables” in 1995 and for supporting actress for her role as the possessive mother of a musician in Michael Haneke’s “Le Pianiste” in 2001.

Ms. Girardot had been treated for Alzheimer’s disease for nearly a decade and for the last two years had lived in a Paris nursing home. In France, she became the public symbol of the disease, and her daughter and granddaughter kept the public informed of her decline.

Alain Delon was the guest of honor in a live broadcast of the annual ceremony of the “TV Star.” The event was held at the Opera House in Kiev on February 27, 2011. The following videos show him at the airport, on the red carpet and at the award show. He recently tore ligaments in his wrist during a game of tennis  – and he still has to wear bandages on his arm.

Alain Delon and his daughter, Anouchka, will open a play, Une journée ordinaire, later this week. They have been extremely busy preparing for and promoting the event.

Delon fans are using their creative talents to celebrate Alain and Anouchka. Lainconnu made a beautiful video titled, ‘Alain Delon and Anouchka.’ The accompanying music was absolutely perfect. I love at the end where Natalie says, “Thanks,Dad.”

While many artists have recorded “Unforgettable,” the most well known recordings of the song were by Nat King Cole and later the duet with Natalie used in this video.

from Wiki- “Unforgettable” is a popular song written by Irving Gordon. The song’s original working title was “Uncomparable”. The music publishing company asked Irving to change it to “Unforgettable”. The song was published in 1951. The most popular version of the song was recorded by Nat King Cole in 1951, with an arrangement written by Nelson Riddle. In 1991, after Elvis Presley’s legendary musical director Joe Guercio had the idea, Cole’s 1961 recording of the song was edited and remixed to create a duet with his daughter, Natalie, which won three awards at the Grammy Awards of 1992: Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. Nat Cole’s original recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000.

Alain Delon and daughter, Anouchka, continued promoting their play with an interview on TF1. Enjoy watching a few minutes of a scene from their play which opens this week- Une journée ordinaire.

Even without speaking French you can see Mr. Delon’s beaming pride all over his face as he looks at his daughter during the interview.

Any translations would be most welcomed.
