Found this photo of Alain Delon, Jean Paul Belmondo and Jean Gabin. There was no information about when or where the photo was taken.
I don’t think these three greats were ever in a movie – all three together. Please post a comment if you have any information about when or where this photo was taken.
I love the intense looks and obvious admiration Mr. Delon and Mr. Belmondo have for Mr. Gabin.
Cordialement

Capitan Thank you for identifying the origin of this photo. It is a captivating photo. What a treat to see three of my favorites in one photo. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Cordialement
Oh sorry it was on the set of the Sicilian clan … the filming of “melody” in 1963 I think … but anecdotes of Belmondo’s visit is the explanation of the photo .. Or have found the original of this photograph I have struggled for years in large format.Cordialement
You are correct “melody” was 1963. Henri Verneuil’s “Sicllian Clan” was filmed in 1969. Mr. Delon and Mr. Gabin also worked together in Jose Giovanni’s “Deux Hommes dans la Ville” in 1973.
You are very knowledgeable about Mr. Delon. Are you a long time fan?
Regards
Yes very long time … I am an admirer of Delon and all the French movies of that time .. but I’m French so it’s normal .. What nationality are you?
My favorite film of Alain Delon is the samurai and also the red circle … I’m a fan of the cinema of Jean Pierre Melville ..
In “Two Men in Town”, I also love the soundtrack which is superb
cordially Francis
PS: Where did you find the photograph?
Francis –
It is good to talk with a long time admirer of Mr. Delon. His films didn’t play in America when I was growing up. I was a fan of Jean-Paul Belmondo having seen Breathless years ago. I discovered Delon a few years ago renting movies from Netflix.
I greatly enjoy Samourai and The Red Circle. I think Jean Pierre Melville made outstanding movies. I also love Mr. Delon in Mr. Klein. I enjoyed Frank Riva and Fabio Montale.
As I started researching Mr. Delon I became fascinated by Delon the person in his seventies. I wondered how someone so beautiful in youth adjusted to aging. I started this blog to share news about Mr. Delon’s current life.
The photo is from a site – http://alaindelon.tumblr.com/
It has the unfortunate title of F**K Yeah Alain Delon. In the upper right hand corner there is an “ARCHIVE” button which takes you to a page that takes some time to load, but is filled with hundreds of photos.
How did you find my site? I’m so glad you left a comment. I hope you will visit often and share your knowledge of Alain Delon who truly is Still the Best!
Cordially, Marti
Cordialement
François
Thank you for that information … In fact, I was looking for this picture … I live in Paris and entered a restaurant in the 13th district I came across it on the wall in large format .. I ‘had also seen a book about Gabin and it was then that I learned the story of the friendly visit of Belmondo on the set of the Clan of the Sicilians …
It is true that the beauty of Delon is incredible during this period of the 70 .. you probably know the film “Swimming Pool” with Romy Schneider, the great love of his life … a couple of incredible beauty .. The film is shot in the South of France ..
For several years, Delon no longer turn to the movies or very little .. and it bothers me a bit to see him now in second-television … whatever people may say this is one of the last myths French films ..
You often talk about Netflix … I do not know the little French that I am … you can tell me ..

François – I enjoyed your description of entering a restaurant and seeing a photo of Mr. Delon and being able to read books about him. Sadly, I can only see photos on the internet and I have not been able to find any biographies of him in English.
Mr. Delon and Romy Schneider were beautiful in “The Swimming Pool.” However, with magnetic charm, inquiring eyes, and captivating charisma, Mr. Delon remains beautiful today.
I agree with you that he “is one of the last myths French films ..”However, I don’t find his television work demeaning. I am happy to watch any work Mr. Delon does and there are many of his films I can not get in America. Laurence Olivier, Paul Newman, Bette Davis and Al Pacino, all great actors, have done television work.
Netflix is an internet rental service that offers both on-demand video streaming over the internet, and DVD rental-by-mail. Some movies you can watch on the internet and while others can be rented and sent through the mail. They have thousands of titles on DVD and over 16 million subscribers in the US and Canada. I am thankful for Netflix because through their service I was able to rent many Delon films unavailable anywhere else.
I am curious, how did you find my site?
I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Cordially,
Marti
Cordialement
François de Paris
Hi Marti, thank you for the explanation on Netflix, I do not know this site because it does not exist in France .. You’re lucky in the USA ..!
I too have a question: what is the American “means” know Alain Delon? or Jean-Paul Belmondo? ..
Another film that I love is “Raiders” a film by Robert ENRICO with another French actor Lino Ventura legend … maybe you’ve seen?
To explain everything to you, I was looking for this picture, so I typed the search on google: “Delon, Gabin Belmondo picture” … and your site appeared in the first! You are known throughout the world ..
That’s all you know ..
PS: You’re right in the United States thousands of movie actors play in TV serials but in France it is very rare and rather frowned upon … it changes a little with the emergence of new series as “U.S.” but the mentality is hard to change .. Have you seen the latest TV movie DELON? See the “Cheetah” turn here is really sad you can not find?
PS2: Have you seen the latest advertising campaign by Alain Delon for perfume “Eau Sauvage” by Christian Dior, he is superb on the photo.

François de Paris
Hello François de Paris
Thank you for describing how you discovered my site. Sometimes I forget that it can be seen all over the world.
I have not seen “Raiders” a film by Robert Enrico with Lino Ventura. I will look for it. I enjoyed Lino Ventura in “Le clan de Sicilians.”
I can understand you sadness about Mr. Delon working on television now that you have explained how it is frowned upon. I think Mr. Delon chose “Le Lion” in order to work with his daughter Anouchka. He worked on “Un mari de trop” to boost the career of Lorie Pester. He played in that movie without remuneration. I have not seen either of these movies because unfortunately they are not available here in the States.
I loved the poster of Mr. Delon used for “Eau Sauvage.” I posted the best 16 second ad ever at- https://samourai.wordpress.com/2009/07/18/an-old-favorite/
You asked, “what is the American “means” know Alain Delon? or Jean-Paul Belmondo? ..” While American film aficionados admire Mr. Delon and Mr. Belmondo, average Americans aren’t familiar with them or their films. Their films did not have a wide distribution here. Now their movies are shown at universities, art house theaters, and film festivals. Most of those events are held in big cities. I am merely an average American who admires both men and their movies. I hope that answers your question.
Cordially,
Marti
Bravo encore
François
